Curious Systems & Mysterious New Forces in Magic

Based on Jim’s 2025 lecture at The Session, this 20 page booklet offers 14 routines which incorporate clever “self-working” elements.  Stand-up, close-up and Zoom-suitable effects combine elements of mentalism and fascinating forces that involve free choices and presentations. Effects include At the Root of Your Decisions, a psychological force with a surprising production of the selected object; Hershey Finds a New Home, an opportunity for a spectator to win a stuffed dog; Your Imminent Career in Magic, in which a spectator “becomes a magician” by freely buying items from a magic catalog, with perfectly-predicted results, Suppressio Veri, an amazing, hand’s off stand-up card effect; Everyone Lost Together, a chair-test variation, and numerous curious forces with small props and cards. These include a number of varied interactive forces, encouraging multiple spectators to “think of a card,” and then controlling the selection.
